Face PRP FAQs

  • Face PRP, or Platelet-Rich Plasma treatment, is a skincare procedure that uses your own blood platelets to stimulate skin regeneration and healing. This innovative procedure boosts collagen production, repairs damaged skin cells, and helps in reducing signs of aging, leaving your skin rejuvenated.

  • The Face PRP procedure begins with a simple blood draw. Your blood is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other components. This PRP is then injected back into your skin, which stimulates the production of collagen and encourages new cell growth for a rejuvenated complexion.

  • As with any injectable treatment, there can be some discomfort during the procedure. However, we apply a topical numbing cream before the treatment to minimize any discomfort. Most of our patients report the process as being more comfortable than they anticipated.

  • Side effects are minimal and usually resolve within one to two days. They may include redness, swelling, and minor bruising at the injection sites. Since PRP uses your own blood, the risk of allergic reactions or adverse effects is significantly reduced.

  • The number of treatments needed varies depending on individual skin conditions and desired results. Generally, we recommend a series of three treatments, 4-6 weeks apart, for optimal results. After that, maintenance treatments can be performed every 6-12 months.

  • While some people may notice a glow and improvement in skin texture within a few days, the full effects of the treatment are typically visible after a few weeks once the collagen production process has been initiated.

  • PRP is suitable for most individuals looking for a natural method to improve skin tone, texture, and elasticity. However, people with certain blood disorders, cancer, active infections, or who are pregnant may not be suitable candidates.
